Ederson produced a pass so good during Sunday’s Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool that Gary Neville described it as ‘the best he’s ever seen from a goalkeeper’.The two sides went into the half-time break all square at Anfield after an entertaining opening 45 minutes.Bernardo Silva produced an exquisite run midway through the first half but was denied one of the all-time great Premier League assists when Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker saved from Phil Foden. However, Silva’s moment of magic was matched by a sensational pass from Ederson to the same forward on the stroke of half-time.The Brazilian shot-stopper spotted Foden on the left flank and pinged an inch-perfect pass through to Foden.p1fh3gdkiiol5164r1et317t6uctp.jpgJames Milner, who endured a difficult first half, was beaten all ends up by Ederson’s pass. The ball rolled perfectly through to Foden, who tried to go around Alisson but was thwarted by Ederson’s international teammate.

Neville, working for Sky Sports, described the pass as “the most outrageous pass from a goalkeeper I’ve seen in my life” and other football fans on Twitter appeared to be in complete agreement:

Could Ederson play out on pitch?

Back in 2018, Ederson insisted that he was good enough to play in the Premier League as a midfielder.

“When I played in the Benfica youth teams, they would always call me to play in midfield if someone was missing and I didn’t ever embarrass myself,” the world-class goalkeeper told FourFourTwo. “So, if necessary I’m definitely up to the task. It wouldn’t be easy, especially in the Premier League, but I think I could manage the challenge.”

We’d all love to see it happen one day. Make it happen, Pep!
