It's certainly been a gruelling eight days for Manchester City.

Last Saturday, Pep Guardiola's team travelled to Stamford Bridge to play Premier League title challengers Chelsea and came away with a well-deserved 1-0 victory.

Three days later, City flew to France for a Champions League encounter versus Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain, a match they lost 2-0.

Then on Sunday, the Premier League champions were at Anfield to play Liverpool and they managed to secure a 2-2 draw thanks to a late equaliser from Kevin De Bruyne.

Three of the hardest away games possible in the space of eight days? That's brutal and Guardiola can be very proud of his team's performances.

His side should have got at least a draw in Paris and they will also feel they could have left Merseyside on Sunday with all three points.

City played the better football at Anfield and had it not been for the majestic Mohamed Salah, the visitors would have won at a canter.

The Citizens were pretty unlucky not to achieve victory anyway, because Liverpool should have been reduced to 10 men shortly before their second goal.

James Milner, who deputised at right-back in place of the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold, brought down Bernardo Silva while on a yellow card.

Amazingly, referee Paul Tierney declared that the foul was not worthy of a second booking, which prompted a touchline meltdown from Guardiola.

The Spaniard was understandably enraged by the incident and he made his feelings very clear to the team of officials.

Mike Dean was on fourth official duty and had a close-up view of Guardiola going absolutely mental near the dugouts.

And his ice-cold reaction to the Spaniard losing his head was pretty darn hilarious.

Say what you want about the often controversial Premier League referee, but there's no denying that absolutely nothing fazes him.

After the game, Guardiola was asked about the decision not to dismiss Milner from the field of play and the former Barcelona manager didn't hold back once again.

"It's a yellow card," he said. "It's clear. It's Anfield, it's Old Trafford. In our situation a City player is sent off. It's too much clear. It was a second yellow."
