But in the modern world, moments of pure genius from a high-profile footballer cannot be allowed to occur without rival fans finding some way to devalue them.

That's certainly been the case in the aftermath of Salah's masterclass against City and there's one name in particular that's all over social media as a result of that; Eden Hazard.

Many football fans are now debating whether the Liverpool man is now the better Premier League player of the two and that, unsurprisingly, is not sitting well with the Blues faithful.

So one major Chelsea-themed account on Twitter posted footage of Hazard's two iconic solo goals at Anfield with the caption: "No one could destroy Liverpool at Anfield quite like Eden Hazard could."

They're two incredible goals, that's for sure.

In his prime at Chelsea, the Belgian maestro really was a joy to watch and he's without question one of the best footballers the Premier League has played home to.

But is Hazard's legacy in England greater than Salah's? It's hard to answer 'yes' to that question, especially when you look at their individual records.

In 245 Premier League games, Hazard netted 85 goals and contributed 61 assists, which is a fine return.

However, Salah's is just plain outrageous, with the Egyptian icon scoring 103 times and producing 41 assists in just 165 outings.
