An increasing number of Manchester United fans are beginning to lose faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following an underwhelming start to the 2021-22 season. The Red Devils have picked up just two victories from their previous six fixtures in all competitions - and those wins against West Ham and Villarreal were somewhat fortuitous.United subsequently find themselves fourth in the Premier League table, albeit only two points behind leaders Chelsea, heading into the international break.Following Saturday’s disappointing 1-1 home draw against Everton, a significant number of United fans voiced their dissatisfaction with Solskjaer on social media. They’re unconvinced that the Norwegian coach, who replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018, is the right man for the job.p1fh5beqap13ma183j1qbd156v2kvf.jpg

What has Gary Neville said about 'Ole Out'?

The topic of ‘Ole Out’ was discussed by Gary Neville on Instagram Live while the former United captain was at Anfield getting ready to provide co-commentary on the Liverpool vs Manchester City game.

And the Sky Sports pundit made some salient points for those United supporters calling for their club to sack a fourth manager in seven years.

"A lot of you are saying Ole out," Neville began. "I get it, a lot of you are wound up today and annoyed with the result against Everton yesterday.

"I know you're annoyed, I get it. I’ve never asked for a manager to be sacked in 11 years and I am not going to start now.

"Manchester United have had a lot of problems in these last eight years since Sir Alex [Ferguson] left.

"I get the fact he has to win a trophy in the next 12 to 18 months, it's absolutely factual, he has to.

"He’s had three years in the job but let's be clear: the players he has got at that club now are a lot better than the ones that were there when he left.

"I know he has spent a lot of money but so did [Louis] van Gaal and [Jose] Mourinho and I didn't like the teams that they produced. I didn't like the players they brought in.

"Yes, we need to get a better performance out of them but there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that we need a better performance out of those players than we're currently getting.

"They do play in moments and that's why these two teams that I'm watching today [Liverpool and Man City] are far better.

"However, he has got to win something this season or I think he will come under big pressure.

"Let's at least keep calm until the end of the season. There is no one going anywhere until the end of the season. We have to make sure that we allow this team to develop.

“[Jadon] Sancho, [Raphael] Varane and [Cristiano] Ronaldo have all just come in, give them a few months to settle down.”

He added: “This season is make or break for Ole. For those of you who think I’m not asking for my mate to leave, I won’t ask for my mate to leave. I’ve not asked for a manager to be sacked from his job since I joined punditry 10 years ago and I’m not going to ask now.

“But Ole has to deliver this season, there is no doubt about that.”

Neville added that Solskjaer has to address the issue of United constantly being counter-attacked at Old Trafford if the team are to stand any chance of ending the season with silverware.
