Joe Cole could make a move back into the England international side, according to the Daily Star, with Fabio Capello impressed by the midfielder’s displays for Lille so far this season.

Cole made the move to Lille on loan in the summer transfer window, and Capello has reportedly sent scouts to watch the star in France in both the Champions League and Ligue 1.

And the Liverpool man’s performances are said to have impressed Capello to the point where the England manager is very close to deciding to select Cole for the international team once more.

While Cole put in some good performances for Liverpool, the 29-year-old fell down the pecking order, and as a result hasn’t played for England since last year’s World Cup final 16 defeat to Germany.

But now that Cole is on loan from Liverpool, a source told the paper: “Fabio has not forgotten Joe. He is keeping close tabs on him but would like to see him become an established regular in the Lille team first.”
