Almost as soon as the player ratings for FIFA 22 were finalised, clips began to emerge on social media of stars from Europe's top leagues reacting to their own cards.

In truth, very few players have been entirely happy about their own ratings, with those on the end of a numbers downgrade often resentful of the situation.

Make no mistake, FIFA ratings are a big deal in dressing rooms around the world. Not only do players want the highest possible rating for themselves, but they are also keen to know how their cards compare to colleagues - as well as those of some of their rivals.

Borussia Dortmund's prolific striker Erling Haaland is no exception to this rule, despite seemingly not being an avid gamer himself.

Dortmund's England international Jude Bellingham was tasked with revealing the FIFA cards to several of his teammates at the Bundesliga outfit - and their reactions were captured by the club's official YouTube channel.

Overall, Haaland has an 88 card in FIFA 22, compared to an 84 card on last year's game.

"Not bad, yeah?" Haaland said to Bellingham, looking pretty pleased with his numbers.

The young midfielder couldn't wait to stir the pot, though, swiftly letting the Norweigan know that he trailed fellow top strikers Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski in the FIFA stakes, with both owning 91-rated cards.

"No comment," replied an unimpressed Haaland when asked by Bellingham if he was still happy.

The pair then went through Haaland's individual ratings. Quizzed as to which attributes he felt should be higher, the 21-year-old frontman suggested that his pace (89) and physicality (88) should both be increased.

"For me, pace and physical I think should be in the 90s. Don't you think I deserve it?"

"I very much think you deserve it, my friend," confirms a chuckling Bellingham.

If his real-life form continues to be as strong as it has been over the past few seasons, we suspect that EA Sports will boost Haaland to his requested levels in next year's game. For now, however, he joins the numerous players who aren't necessarily thrilled with the developer.
