Journalist Paul Brown believes that Harry Kane failing to get a move away from Tottenham this summer has caused unrest in the team's dressing room.

What's the latest news involving Harry Kane?

The England captain reportedly told Spurs back in May that he wanted to leave the club, and Manchester City were heavily linked with the forward throughout the recent transfer window.

Tottenham were adamant that they were unwilling to sell Kane, though, and they got their wish in the end, with Kane accepting that he was staying in north London a matter of days before the window shut.

Spurs have since had a mixed start to the season, winning their first three league games before then losing all three of their top-flight fixtures in September, and Kane failed to score in all of these matches.

What has Brown said about Kane?

When asked for his opinion on why Tottenham have lacked consistency in the opening weeks of the season, Brown pointed to Kane still being at the club, and how this may have affected his teammates.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “I think it’s a very unbalanced squad, and there are clearly problems in the dressing room because everyone knows the star player tried to quit in the summer, didn’t get his move. And while he’s playing and making all the right noises, putting a shift in, it can’t be easy in the dressing room to see the guy that you all look up to, ultimately, doesn’t really want to be there.

“I don’t think anyone can accuse Harry Kane of downing tools. I don’t think he ever will, and he was one of their better players at the weekend. But, it must put some doubt in the mind of your teammates when you’re thinking: ‘this guy tried his best to get out of the club, and how much is he really committed to us?’”

How can Kane show that he's committed to Tottenham?

One way would be his performances on the pitch. The 28-year-old has not looked at the races in most of his displays this season, and some of his teammates may have interpreted that as his heart not being in it at Tottenham.

However, arguably the best way of showing his commitment would be to sign a new contract. Right now, it seems inevitable that Kane will push for a move away again either in January or next summer, but if he does put pen to paper on a new deal this could show the rest of the squad and the fans that he wants to be at Spurs and is determined to make the team successful once more.
