Timo Werner has too often been the butt of the jokes at Chelsea Football Club.Since his £47.5-million move from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020, Werner's goalscoring has flattered to deceive with his record of just 14 goals in 60 appearances leaving Chelsea fans cold. However, your humble GIVEMESPORT writer will happily die on the hill that Werner has actually been underrated at Stamford Bridge with his energy and creativity still playing a valuable role.

Werner's tough Chelsea spell

While it's difficult to defend Werner's potency in front of goal, it's nonetheless telling that Thomas Tuchel so often turns to the German whenever he wants to stretch and pressure the opposition.

Either way, though, there's no denying that Werner has gained more of a meme status than both his Chelsea performances and general attitude would appear to deserve.

After all, Werner comes across like a thoroughly sound bloke during post-match interviews and work with the press and clearly puts in effort by the spades whenever he's called upon by Tuchel.

Fake Yokohama advert

Those enviable traits can't escape the objectivity of a poor goalscoring record, granted, but it surely goes to show that Werner must be a positive role model to have in the Chelsea dressing room.

And perhaps there could be no finer demonstration of just how good of a sport Werner truly is than in a hilarious new prank video conducted by Chelsea and their sponsors Yokohama.

Yes, that's right, poor Werner was subjected to a fake tyre advert that saw him dancing around, making bizarre car noises, sporting terrible outfits and driving around in a mini go-kart.

Werner pranked in hilarious prank

What makes the viral video all the more amusing is that Mason Mount and Jorginho were in on it, taking turns to give instructions to an actor who was pretending to be the Yokohama cameraman.

And with Werner, to his credit, going along with almost everything that was asked of him - no matter how bizarre - the prank really did make for hilarious viewing, so be sure to check it out below:

Fair play, Timo, fair play. A lot of people would have handled that far, far worse.

Werner: A brilliant sport

Despite the fact that Werner was clearly being asked to do things that made him feel uncomfortable or silly, you have to give him credit for throwing himself into some of the craziest requests.

Besides, it spoke volumes that when Mount and Jorginho revealed that the whole thing had been a prank that even Werner himself was surprised by what he'd do for an advertising campaign.
