Battlefield 2042: Reports suggest hackers already present in technical playtest

Battlefield 2042 is scheduled for release on 19th November 2021

Early reports have suggested that hackers have already made their way into the Battlefield 2042 Beta.

EA and DICE are preparing to launch what is arguably one of the biggest new gaming titles this year and fans of the long-running series have been hugely excited about its arrival this winter.

The developers released a trailer last week showcasing everything that will be included during the technical playtest, including an array of weapons, attachments, vehicles and maps.

Players were permitted to pre-load the Battlefield 2042 Beta today ahead of Early Access which is set to get underway tomorrow until 7th October 2021.

However, had news has already started to emerge which could potentially jeopardise DICE’s test period.

Battlefield 2042 Beta Hackers

When announcing the beta, DICE stated that they are devoted to the ethical gaming concept of fair play. They committed to this by announcing their Easy-Anti Cheat (EAC) system which is also used on other EA titles such as Apex Legends and Star Wars: Squadrons, assuring gamers that it has proven to be effective in ensuring privacy and security.

However, according to ModernWarzone on Twitter, this has not been the case as hackers have already bypassed this and made their way into the game.

If this is the case, that would mean that this is a repeat of what happened during the Call of Duty Vanguard Beta earlier this year, where cheaters were also spotted using aimbot during multiplayer matches.

This is not the news that DICE will have wanted to hear. Here is to hoping that a patch can be released to counteract these urgent issues.

If they fail to address the issue, then it could mean that Battlefield 2042 may suffer from a further delay following its recent four-week setback. Time will tell.
