Gable Steveson, who officially signed for WWE last month, has been assigned to the Monday Night Raw roster as part of the 2021 WWE Draft.

In the final round of the WWE Draft last night, Monday Night Raw drafted Gable Steveson with their final pick, which seemed to catch many people by surprise.

As noted earlier, Steveson signed with WWE last month. He'll officially become part of the WWE roster after the conclusion of his Senior NCAA season.

Gable Steveson was seen on the show last night celebrating his draft pick with his family, with his draft move confirming that he'll will be skipping out on NXT and heading straight to the main roster.

What makes Steveson's move to Monday Night Raw so surprising is that he hasn't had a professional wrestling match yet, so his first match will presumably be on WWE's main roster.

As of right now, there is no word on if WWE is planning on using Steveson on Raw immediately, or if there are plans to introduce him at a later date once he's undergone more training.

For those that don't know, Gable Steveson won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling. The 21-year-old is also the reigning Pan American Continental Champion.

Gable Steveson signed the first-ever NIL contract in WWE history. The deal allows him to become part of the WWE roster, while still wrestling in college.

Steveson will continue to defend his NCAA Championship for the University of Minnesota, all while seemingly being part of the Monday Night Raw roster.

You can watch Gable Steveson on Monday Night Raw every week live here in the UK on BT Sport.
