Anthony Joshua has switched sides on his prediction for the upcoming trilogy fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

With the fight set to happen at T-Mobile Arena on 9 October, Joshua believes that the bout could end in Wilder's favour.

When asked about the bout earlier this year, Joshua backed up the fellow British boxer with confidence.

Speaking to talkSPORT he originally said: “Fury won the last one so I’ll go with Fury because you’re only as good as your last performance."

“Good luck to them both.”

But since his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, his thoughts regarding this fight have changed. When questioned about this fight again ahead of his re-match with Usyk, he showed his trust in Wilder.

Talking to reporters, per a report in MEN last month he said: "I’m not too bothered. Look, because you’ve asked the question, let’s go with Wilder because he seems obsessed like he wants it.

"He seems focused on the task ahead, so, you know, a focused man is a dangerous man and he’s focused. Wilder might get the decision. Actually, no, it has to be a knockout.”

With Joshua going after a re-match with the Ukrainian, a fight between Joshua and Fury is highly unlikely to happen. But boxing promoter Frank Warren believes that this fight would happen at some point.

After a stunning rise from knockout in the first bout and clear domination in the second to claim the WBC title in a seventh-round stoppage, Fury is the clear favourite for this fight.

Despite the odds stacked against Wilder before the fight, an upset from Wilder could create more problems in the already chaotic heavyweight division.

As both Fury and Joshua eye a shot at each other in future.
