Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge does not believe that Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo has the support of the fans yet.

How has Nuno started at Tottenham?

Having been appointed Spurs manager at the end of June, Nuno made the perfect start by winning his first three league games against Manchester City, Wolves and Watford.

Things went badly wrong in September, though. Tottenham lost all three of their Premier League matches in the month, conceding nine times and scoring just once.

They got back to winning ways on Sunday, edging past Aston Villa 2-1, leaving them on 12 points after seven games in what has been a rollercoaster start to the campaign for the north London side.

What has Bridge said about Nuno?

Bridge feels that Nuno has spoken his mind since arriving at the club, giving frank assessments of his team when they have under-performed. However, he is concerned that the manager has not been able to get the fans on board during the first few months of his reign.

Speaking about Nuno's start to life at Spurs, Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: “He hasn’t really endeared himself to the fans. And this is not his fault at all. He’s been very honest but I don’t see the fans backing him. It’s very early days, I know. But just, something isn’t right there.”

Can Nuno win the fans over at Spurs?

It is understandable that Spurs' fans are not convinced about Nuno at this stage, as the team have been a tough watch for much of the season to date. They scored just four goals in their opening six league games, and struggled badly to create chances. When comparing this to how they played under Mauricio Pochettino a few years ago, it is an alarming contrast.

There were more promising signs in their latest outing against Villa, though. Spurs registered 17 shots on goal, with eight shots on target as they scored more than one goal in a top-flight game for the first time this season.

Tottenham have a big month coming up after the international break as they travel to Newcastle and West Ham before hosting Manchester United at the end of October, plus they have the chance to make the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

If they put a run of positive results together during this period, Tottenham's supporters may warm to Nuno over the coming weeks, and start to believe that he is the right man to take the club forwards.
