Mojo Rawley has revealed that WWE considered having him as the mouthpiece for a new faction that would have mirrored the League of Nations group from 2015-16.
The League of Nations faction was created in 2015, consisting of Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio, with all three men representing different countries.
WWE apparently liked the idea, as Mojo Rawley has revealed that the company considered starting the group up again in 2020, having him as the mouthpiece.
“My most recent Mania, I’m doing the heel thing and I tagged with Cesaro and (Shinsuke Nakamura). They liked that. They were talking about that being a new League of Nations and I was going to be the mouthpiece of it. Who knows how much that was going to be a thing.
In case it wasn't clear, WWE never ended up putting Mojo Rawley together with Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro as a permanent faction.
During the same podcast episode, Mojo Rawley spoke about how plans that WWE may have had for him changed when Rob Gronkowski came into the company before WrestleMania 36 last year:
“I’m doing my heel work, then the 24/7 stuff was around there, then I moved SmackDown and I was immediately hyped up babyface to bring in Rob and we had big plans that didn’t materialize because of the pandemic he went back to football. They put me right back to being a heel immediately and I was flip-flopping every week.”
Mojo Rawley was one of the several wrestlers released by WWE this year, being let go by the company on April 15, just a few days removed from WrestleMania 37.
