Andrey Arshavin and Sebastien Squillaci are both targets for Russian club Anzhi Makhachala, according to ClubCall, with the duo set for possible January exits before their contracts run out.

Arshavin is currently in talks with Arsene Wenger to extend his deal at the Emirates, which runs out in 18 months. Wenger is keen to avoid another Samir Nasri situation, and wants to tie down the star for the long-term.

Squillaci, meanwhile, has fallen out of favour at Arsenal of late, with the centre back third choice for a starting spot behind Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen.

While Arsenal had been hopeful of keeping the pair on board, Anhzi can offer wages and transfer fees that Wenger can’t compete with, and the Gunners manager is reportedly very concerned that he may lose another two players in the next transfer window.

While Arsenal struggled at the start of the season, the side have picked up, and can now boast three wins in a row.
