Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the famous individuals on the planet.
When the Portuguese superstar re-signed for Manchester United this summer, you only had to look at the monstrous social media engagement and kit sales to see just how big of a deal it really was.
While, yes, you and I might be well-versed in Ronaldo's remarkable achievements in the beautiful game, the 36-year-old's iconic status is such that he transcends the sport that he calls his own.
Ronaldo's worldwide profile
Besides, it's a pretty safe bet that you could stop members of the public who haven't even watched a single of game of football in their lives and they would still be able to recognise Ronaldo.
And whether you're one of the people who downplays footballers' activity away from the pitch or not, there's no denying that Ronaldo's presence on social media has played a massive role in his profile.
Naturally, Ronaldo has a huge presence on both his Twitter and Facebook pages, but it is Instagram where his worldwide renown really becomes apparent.
With an astonishing 353 million followers on the photo-sharing app, Ronaldo is the most-followed human being across the platform with only Instagram's own page boasting more followers.
Record-breaking Instagram stats
Yes, that's right, United's goalscorer in chief tops everybody from Drake, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and so on, while - for those of you who are wondering - Lionel Messi sits on 272 million followers.
Now, that's all well and good, but what does that actually mean? Well, the answer is a lot of money because it means that Ronaldo's reach with sponsorship deals is quite literally second to none.
And the mind-boggling fees that Ronaldo could potentially command on Instagram have been estimated by Myprotein, who ran a study to work out the 'Premier League Instagram Rich List'.

An icon amongst mortals
Wowsers. Imagine being able to become a millionaire from a single Instagram post and then having a casual £505,000 to play around with afterwards.
With Ronaldo reported to be earning anywhere between £350,000 and £550,000 per week at Old Trafford, the Portuguese could technically be earning more from sponsorship deals on Instagram.
Besides, if Ronaldo were to post a single sponsorship post every month then Myprotein's findings suggest that he would pocket an insane £18,060,000 each year.
However, it's the staggering difference between Ronaldo and the other Premier League players that really stands out with the United star earning a bonkers £1,296,880 more per post than Pogba.
So, sure, the GOAT conversation and Ronaldo's place within it is certainly up for debate, but there's no denying that he's the top dog when it comes to playing the fame game. Fair play, Cristiano.
