After a pulsating start to the season, it’s Arsenal who lead the way at the top of the Women’s Super League.

Their North London rivals Tottenham also have 12 points from 12, while defending champions Chelsea have recovered from their opening weekend defeat to win three on the bounce.

There were a number of notable individual performances in September as established stars proved their quality and rising talents made a name for themselves.

GIveMeSport Women have selected the six most in-form players from the first month of the campaign and it’s now up to you to decide who should win the GMS Fans’ September Player of the Month award.

Here’s a list of the nominees:

Beth Mead

When Arsenal brought in the likes of Nikita Parris and Mana Iwabuchi, the future of Mead looked uncertain.

The England star was underwhelming for much of last season and missed out on the Great Britain squad at the Tokyo Olympics this summer.

However, the 26-year-old has made a fine start to this campaign and has been the Gunners stand out performer.

Two goals against Chelsea helped Jonas Eidevall’s side inflict Chelsea’s first league defeat since February. A week later, Mead notched another goal in a 4-0 win against Reading.

Operating predominantly on the right flank, the forward also registered three assists in September –– emphasising her creativity and the understanding she’s built up with the prolific Vivianne Miedema.
