Journalist Paul Brown reckons that Richarlison is on "borrowed time" at Everton – and wouldn't turn down the chance to leave the club.

What's the latest news with Richarlison?

The Brazilian, who's valued at £49.5m by Transfermarket, has been one of Everton's best players since joining from Watford and has scored 43 goals across all competitions since his arrival on Merseyside.

However, he's made a poor start to the current season, scoring just once in four games and that came in the Toffees' victory over Southampton on the opening day. Since, he's failed to contribute to a single goal and wasn't involved in the defeat at Aston Villa or 2-0 victory over Norwich City.

When Richarlison was last seen, he reacted angrily to being substituted in the win against Burnley last month having seemingly been annoyed with the fact he couldn't get himself on the scoresheet in the 3-1 success.

This comes after he was linked with a move to Real Madrid, 12 months after La Liga rivals Barcelona were also interested in bringing the forward to Spain.

Richarlison recently told Ole that he "doesn't know what the future holds" – failing to rule out leaving Everton in the near future.

And Brown reckons that Richarlison's "character" means that he wouldn't turn down the chance to progress his career and move away from Goodison Park.

What did Brown say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I do think Richarlison is on borrowed time at Everton just because it was quite clear, even last summer, that he's an ambitious player and has had to be convinced to stay and give them a bit more time.

"If a bigger club came in for him and offered him Champions League football and a wage rise, he would take it, because he's that kind of character."

When is Richarlison likely to leave?

He still has just under three years remaining on his Everton contract but hasn't signed a new deal since he arrived in 2018, which would suggest that he's considering his options.

January moves are always unlikely with a player of his calibre but having been linked away in the previous two summers, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Brazilian international depart at the end of this season.
