Some of the opening round matches for both the Queen's Crown and King of the Ring tournament have been revealed by WWE.

Taking to social media last night, WWE announced that Sami Zayn and Rey Mysterio will go one-on-one in a King of the Ring tournament first-round match on Friday Night SmackDown tonight.

This is the only match announced for the men's tournament thus far, but WWE is hopefully showing its intent by pairing two of its top workers together in the first match.

The rest of the men in the tournament aren't known, but Sami Zayn and Rey Mysterio will both be hoping to become the first King of the Ring winner since Baron Corbin won the tournament in 2019.

This isn't the only tournament match announced for SmackDown tonight, as WWE has also announced that Liv Morgan and Carmella will compete in a Queen's Crown tournament match.

Not only is Liv Morgan vs. Carmella a first-round match in the 2021 Queen's Crown tournament, but it will also go down as the first Queen's Crown tournament match in WWE history.

Like with the men, we only know two of the women that are going to be competing in the Queen's Crown tournament, which more likely to be announced over the coming days.

WWE has also announced that Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch will have a contract signing on SmackDown tonight ahead of the Women's title match at Crown Jewel later this month.
