Boxing promoter Bob Arum has criticised sports presenter Kate Abdo after the press conference between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder ended in confusion.Wilder’s trilogy bout with the Gypsy King will take place this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, and the pair were embroiled in a war of words yesterday as the trash-talk came out in full effect.While the atmosphere was relatively calm to start with, it wasn’t long until the two heavyweights verbally attacked each other.The Bronze Bomber accused Fury of cheating during their previous fight and claimed the British fighter had no power.“You haven’t denied any allegations to this point,” Wilder emphasised. “You’ve got no power… I don’t have to manipulate my gloves.”ENTER GIVEAWAYFury hit back, calling Wilder a “loser” and stressed he was going to knock the American out again on Saturday night.“I don’t fear you, because you’re a lying little dosser,” he said. “You insecure piece of s**t, you’re getting knocked the f**k out.”After Fury began pacing around the room, the tension between the two fighters was on a knife-edge.Abdo, who was acting as the moderator, then called for a staredown between the heavyweights. Though this is common at the end of a boxing press conference, Arum was quick to interject and stop the face-off from happening.The promoter was under the impression a staredown would not be happening and shouted “No no no” as both fighters looked to square up to one another.Speaking to reporters after the fight, Arum then took aim at Abdo and accused her of being biased towards Wilder.

"They bring this woman in from the UK and she's slanting all the press conference to Wilder," he said.

"I don't give a damn but it's obvious that's what she was doing. She knew that the understanding was no face-off ... we said no face-off, and what does she say? 'Now we're going to do a face-off'.

"F*** her and f*** them. There was no face-off and we saved the fight"
Abdo has since responded to the Top Rank CEO on Twitter, admitting she felt saddened to be criticised by someone she has long admired.

The UEFA Champions League presenter wrote: “With regards to the faceoff – I was doing what we the broadcaster believed was agreed upon. But I think that’s kind of unimportant now.

“I have nothing but respect for Bob Arum and the empire he has created. I understand what he means to boxing and what the sport owes him.

“I think the language in this interview was entirely inappropriate. Of course, it’s disappointing to be disrespected by someone I respect. But that’s life, not everyone will give you the courtesy you deserve.”

Fury vs Wilder will be broadcast exclusively on BT Sport Box Office for UK viewers. The undercard is scheduled to begin at 2 am on Sunday morning, with the main event predicted to start around 4 am.
