Alberto Del Rio is reportedly telling people that he is going to be returning to WWE, but whether that is true or not remains to be seen.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that Del Rio, who left WWE for the second time in 2016, has told people that he is going to be returning soon.

Meltzer explains what while he doesn't believe Del Rio is coming back the former WWE Champion has told people that once his legal issues have been "cleared up", he's going to be returning:

While I don’t believe this at all, but Alberto El Patron is telling people that he’s going to WWE when his legal situation regarding the alleged assault on an ex-girlfriend in San Antonio is cleared up. It would actually shock me if WWE would use him, not that anything is impossible and WWE could get away with it while any other U.S. company would be excoriated for it, but I don’t think that’s a direction that makes any sense for them at this point.

Alberto Del Rio signed with WWE for the first time in 2009, debuting on the main roster the following year in a feud with Rey Mysterio.

Before leaving the company in 2014, Del Rio would go on to win both the World Heavyweight and WWE Championship, feuding with the likes of CM Punk, Edge and John Cena.

Del Rio returned to WWE in 2015, immediately beating John Cena to capture the United States Championship before leaving again the following year.

Again, it remains to be seen whether or not Alberto Del Rio actually returns to WWE, but he's certainly telling people that he is. For any additional information, stay tuned to GiveMeSport.
