Valencia have joined the race for Arsenal target Marvin Martin reports talkSPORT.

The 23-year-old midfielder is under contract at FC Sochaux until 2015, and recently insisted he has no intention of walking away from the Ligue 1 outfit midway through the season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of Martin, with many anticipating that the French tactician will make a January attempt to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Valued at around £10million, the player has also emerged on Valencia's radar, but the La Liga side are said to be prepared to wait until the summer for his signature.

Martin has been earmarked as a player who could help fill the void left by Juan Mata - who opted to join Chelsea over Arsenal when he left the Mestalla in August.

Having made an uncharacteristic foray into the transfer market in the summer, it is widely anticipated that Arsenal will look to bring in more fresh faces when the transfer window reopens, as Wenger looks to save their season.
