Ahead of what will arguably be the biggest night of his boxing career, Deontay Wilder knew that something had to change following his defeat to Tyson Fury back in February 2020.

The Alabama native has not fought since that loss, and with the trilogy fight now under 48 hours aways, an image has emerged of Wilder’s new physique coming into the bout in Las Vegas.

In a photo posted on Twitter by Michael Benson, talkSPORT’s online boxing editor, the Bronze Bomber is looking quite mean and bulky.

There’s no denying that Wilder has been hitting the weights since he last entered the ring, and the internet has now gotten a better glimpse at just how much progress the American has made over the last year-and-a-half.

Wilder’s second bout with Fury saw the Gypsy King dominant largely due to the size advantage he held over his counterpart. Despite being a naturally lighter heavyweight boxer, Wilder looks set to take another approach when he meets his rival in the ring on Saturday night.

Moreover, revenge is firmly on the Bronze Bomber’s mind, and in Wednesday’s press conference, he spoke more on just how much work he has put in during his camp.

“I’ve dedicated myself and devoted my time and my body, me and my team, to reinventing myself.

“I’m ready to reintroduce myself to the world. This fight is about redemption, retaliation and retribution.

“I needed everything that happened in that (second) fight. It was really a blessing in disguise.

“Saturday night is going to be a different fight. It’s rare that we get trilogies like this, and I truly believe this one is going down in history.”
