Tennis sensation Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek was given the opportunity to meet her dream hitting partner Andy Murray at Indian Wells.Earlier this week, ÅšwiÄ…tek was asked on Tennis Channel who her dream hitting partner would be."That’s a tough one," said ÅšwiÄ…tek, who is currently playing at Indian Wells. "I would love to play with Andy Murray.""We actually had a little chat on Twitter so maybe it is going to be possible to finally play. He also seems like such a nice guy. Good sense of humour too."After the interview was shared on social media, Andy Murray replied and offered to make ÅšwiÄ…tek’s dream come true."I don’t have her number unfortunately but I’m hitting at 3pm tomorrow if she wants to join? Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek, let's do it."

ÅšwiÄ…tek did indeed turn up to the court to have a brief chat with Murray, but did not play tennis with him. A sizeable crowd and a number of photographers were on hand to witness the heartwarming moment.

The 20-year-old ÅšwiÄ…tek has rallied with some of the greats in men’s tennis before, practicing with Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros earlier this year.

Both Murray and ÅšwiÄ…tek have advanced to the second round of Indian Wells, one of the most prestigious tournaments on the tennis calendar outside of the four main Grand Slams.

Three-time Grand Slam winner Murray defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 6-2 in his opening match of the tournament, while Świątek, the 2019 French Open winner, defeated Petra Martić 6-1, 6-3.

Murray has returned to tennis from a long battle with a hip injury, and revealed he was disappointed a number of other top stars were sitting out of Indian Wells.

"Yeah, I mean, obviously with everyone getting older, there's going to be times where those guys are missing, missing events," Murray said. "I've obviously had my fair share of misses the last few years, like we were saying, [it's been] four years since I've last been here.

"It's unfortunate with Rafa [Nadal] and Roger [Federer] being injured, and I think Novak [Djokovic], probably rightfully, is taking a break after the run that he's had this year and just missing out at the US Open.

"But I'm happy myself to be here. It's a shame for the tournament that they're not here. Certainly a couple of years ago, I wouldn't have expected to be the only one playing."
