Is the international break over yet?

While this particular hiatus from club football has seen some drama in the form of the finals of the Nations League, you can be sure that fans are counting down the days to the return of the Premier League.

We might only be seven games into the season, but the most popular league in the world has well and truly delivered already.

It is shaping up to be one of the most exciting title races ever with just two points separating the top six sides.

Currently, Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea side sit atop with 16 points, while Liverpool lie close behind on 15.

Manchester City and Manchester United round out the top four with 14 points to their name.

Right now, Chelsea are probably favourites to claim the title, but that is by no means a sure thing.

Just before the biggest stars in the world  fluttered off to the four corners of the globe to represent their national sides, Liverpool and Man City played out a titanic ding-dong battle at Anfield.

It was a blockbuster trailer for what this title race promises to be, with two of the best sides in Europe hammering it out in a bid for domestic glory.

Both City and Liverpool look capable of taking Chelsea all the way to the wire while ruling out Manchester United, with Cristiano Ronaldo on their books, would also be nought but a fools errand.

In truth, even at this early stage, it is one of the hardest races to call.

Fortunately, while we are unable to look at it from a completely unemotional perspective, we have supercomputers that make a business of crunching numbers and vast swathes of data to make algorithmic based predictions for the title.

Now, we need to point out that these predictions are by no means gospel - and we would never subscribe to the idea that football is nothing but science - but they do make for fascinating reading.

Supercomputer predicts final premier League table

So, what do the AI's think?

Well, the talkSPORT supercomputer recently churned into action and coughed up some interesting results.

It believes that Chelsea will top the league come May next year, with Manchester City second and Liverpool third.

Manchester City come in at fourth but West Ham fans will be absolutely made up to see that the computer anticipates a fifth placed finish for the east Londoners.

At the other end of the battle grounds, Burnley, Watford and Norwich are expected to be the trio dropping down into the Championship.

Newcastle meanwhile, are expected to just about escape the drop, finishing in 17th.
