Michael Bridge doesn't believe that Brighton manager Graham Potter would reject the chance to manage Tottenham.

The 46-year-old was linked with the job in north London over the summer, but the Telegraph reported last month that the former Swansea boss has no interest in the role because he wouldn't want to 'risk his reputation' by working under Daniel Levy.

What's the latest news with Graham Potter?

This might be just his fourth season as a manager in English football, but the job Potter's done with Brighton is gaining plaudits on an almost weekly basis.

Their 14 points from seven Premier League matches has the Seagulls sitting 6th, just two points behind leaders Chelsea and only goal difference adrift of the two Manchester clubs and the top-four.

But Potter's impact hasn't just been on their league position, he's got Brighton playing a brand of football that you wouldn't normally associate with a team that have finished in the bottom-half of the table in the last two seasons.

Such is Potter's impressive work, he was one of several names being mentioned when Jose Mourinho was sacked in April and was then referred to again in recent weeks, with Nuno Espirito Santo under pressure following three straight defeats in September.

But whilst the Telegraph denied any talk of Potter replacing the Portuguese at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bridge simply doesn't believe that would be the case.

What did Bridge say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think with Potter, that's a little bit from certain journalists having a prod at Levy.

"I look at Graham Potter and think 'would you really turn down the Tottenham job?' You're never going to get the Man City job, You're never going to get the Liverpool job, you're never going to get the Chelsea job.

"I'd be sceptical about what I've read about Potter. Everyone is on the Potter train at the moment and with good reason, but I was saying in the summer, he's had a good few seasons, but he only finished four points better off than Chris Hughton did, so I wasn't sure. I'm still not if I'm being honest with you."

Would Potter turn down Tottenham?

It's easy to say no right now when Brighton are flying high at the top of the table and Tottenham are in a difficult moment.

But Potter was managing in Sweden just over three years ago and in the Championship as recently as 2019, which means the position at Spurs would still comfortably be the biggest job of his career.

Following his impressive work in the South Coast in the last two years, though, Potter might well be targeting a bigger job than Tottenham, whilst he's also in the frame to replace Steve Bruce at Newcastle, according to The Sun, so that's another possibility.
