Pogba's a fine leader

So that's a UEFA Nations League winner's medal now added to the list of honours for Pogba, who also won the World Cup with Les Bleus in 2018.

Pogba starred throughout the tournament in Russia three years ago, and a clip of the midfielder delivering a rousing speech to his teammates ahead of their round-of-16 win against Argentina showcased his impact off the pitch as well.

"Today we will 'kill' them. Messi or no Messi I don't care! We came to win this f*****g World Cup," Pogba to his teammates.

Pogba delivered another speech vs Spain

The former Juventus star may not wear the captain's armband but he's a proper leader in the French dressing room, and he gave another speech to his teammates at half-time of Sunday's final against Spain.

The score was 0-0 at the time and an animated Pogba pleaded with his players to be more aggressive.

"We have to be aggressive," he said, his message translated by Aaron Cikaya.

"It starts from the front all the way to the back. We win the ball back and we attack!

"And yes we’re going to run a lot because they have quality players, but so do we. We have to keep the ball and hurt them. Second half we have to be aggressive.”

France sealed 2-1 win

France were more aggressive after the restart and goals from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe sealed a memorable 2-1 win for the world champions.

The Man United star certainly enjoyed the moment.

With such a talented group of players who have experience of winning together, France will be the team to beat at next year's World Cup in Qatar.
