Total carnage broke out on the latest instalment of Monday Night Raw as an attempted women's tag team match didn't go exactly to plan.

WWE pitted former SmackDown rivals Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch as one of the main matches of the show.

However, in-house feuds made sure the match didn't go as planned.

A partnership between Belair and Banks was always going to cause serious friction. After their long-running dispute on the blue brand, the two took the first opportunity to land blows on each other.

The EST of WWE and The Boss were already squabbling before the first bell had even rung, as they fought over who would be the first woman to start the match.

As Lynch prepared to take on her first opponent, Belair and Banks were fighting in their corner as they competed for the limelight.

The Man saw an advantage and took it – landing an attack on The EST of WWE before a major four-way brawl broke out.

Three referees entered the ring to try and restore some order between the four wrestling stars, but the red mist had already completely descended on the match.

Flair disposed of Banks through the ropes before landing a big boot on Lynch's face.

The fight then continued outside the ring as fans in the arena lapped up the chaos.

Even after Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce intervened and demanded the women continue the match as planned, the in-house brawls continued.

The referee eventually ruled out the match via disqualification, until Big-Time Becks was the last woman standing after defeating Banks.

This was the perfect advertisement for the Crown Jewel pay-per-view as Lynch, Belair, and Banks prepare to face off once again, but this time competing for the SmackDown Women's Championship title.
