UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is being ridiculed once again by MMA fans for seemingly copying Conor McGregor... again!

In a recent interview, Usman stated: “Right now, none of these guys are doing it. I might have to go drag Canelo out of, you know, when he’s done with all these guys that he’s running through.”

The quote is undoubtedly similar to an iconic McGregor interview at the first UFC 205 pre-fight press conference when he said: “I’m looking around, I don’t know what anyone else has for me right now. I might have to jump up and f****** drag Floyd Mayweather out of bed - see what the f*** he’s at again.”

And fans of the Notorious are convinced the Nigerian star is directly copying McGregor.

One fan who shared the post added: “I swear Usman studies Conor McGregor quotes before these interviews.”

However, one MMA fan acknowledged the similarity yet saw it more as a sign of admiration between the fighters, as he said: “He’s a prize fighter and he’s copying the model of the highest-paid prize fighter in his sport.

"Nothing groundbreaking or surprising about that. Conor followed the money Mayweather blueprint for marketing himself and made bank.”

The Irishman, who is currently out of the Octagon due to a broken leg suffered during his trilogy fight vs Dustin Poirier in July, even shared the comparison himself to his Instagram story with a laughing face emoji.

Usman, on the other hand, is currently preparing to defend his welterweight title in a rematch against Colby Covington. The fight will be the main event of UFC 268, which takes place on November 6 in New York.
