Mike Tyson wasn't having any of Floyd Mayweather being 'TBE' in boxing

Whilst speaking on a podcast, Mike Tyson once argued that although Floyd Mayweather is great, he cannot be called the greatest of all time when it comes to boxing.

Mayweather retired from the sport with a perfect 50-0 record and defeated some big names along the way, including Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Manny Pacquiao and finally UFC’s Conor McGregor.

He did return to the ring, however, on June 6, 2021, in an exhibition fight against YouTuber Logan Paul in a non-scored bout, but most fans are choosing to ignore that ever happened due to the drab nature of the affair.

Whilst discussing the GOAT of boxing, Iron Mike made the claims that Mayweather was not the greatest of all time, saying: "Floyd’s a great fighter, don’t get me wrong, but he had 50 fights.

“Listen, Sugar Ray Robinson had 47 fights, he lost one, and he had 78 fights, a 78-fight winning streak with 60 knockouts.

“Don’t tell me about the greatest fighter with 50-0. He’s a great fighter no doubt about it, but 50-0. [Julio Cesar] Chavez had 90 (official record 107-6-3), he was fighting like eight times a year against whoever fought him, against whoever was in the rankings.”

Mike Tyson himself returned to the ring after 15 years of inactivity last November to take on the now 51-year-old boxing legend Roy Jones Jr in an eight-round exhibition that ended in a draw.

Tyson said he was happy with the draw and made clear his future would not be in a professional capacity, saying: "This is bigger than championships, we are humanitarians, we are helping people. I'm happy I got this under the belt and I'll continue to go further and do more."

It was the biggest pay-per-view event of 2020, recording over 1.6 million buys.
