A World Cup-winning Champions League expert to have lifted the biggest prize in the club game on four separate occasions, it's clear the Frenchman is among the most decorated defenders in world football.
The early signs on the pitch have been promising. While United have struggled for consistency, Varane's ability to marshal the defence has been a sight to behold and, frankly, he looks a level above their options.
Such is his standing in the game, it's not only what he can do on the pitch that's so exciting for United.
Indeed, a clip on social media has recently gone viral that shows Varane's actions before Sunday's Nations League final win over Spain.
While the game would only last 43 minutes for the 28-year-old before he limped off with an injury, Varane appeared to use all of his experience in winning major trophies to issue a rallying cry before heading out to the pitch.
In an otherwise quiet dressing room, it is his voice that booms across the lockers, reminding his teammates of what an occasion they were facing.
You can watch it below.
Even with a lack of response, Varane uses the opportunity to get louder and louder, clapping his hands and making sure people remember the moment. Luckily for France, they managed a second-half turnaround to win yet another international trophy.
A rough translation of it (via Joey Corroch on Twitter) reads: "Come on guys, we have a f**king final, a f**ing opportunity to win a trophy with the national team.
"Let's not forget. 90 min focus, we are staying in the game. We play our game, nothing is going to derail us from our game. 90 min, all in.
"Let's go get it. Together."
The footage, predictably, has left supporters on Twitter impressed.
"Love him," said @TadhgConnolly8.
"Baller, he's never lost a final," said @WinnrsMentality.
"He is so eager to learn. Man Utd manager in 10 years?" joked @ManUtdChris.
The rousing speech is indicative of a man who has seen and done it all. Having picked up so many trophies for both club and country, few people are better placed to help conduct a dressing room before a big final.
For United, they will hope they can benefit from that soon.News Now - Sport News
