When will a Premier League title arrive?
But how quickly can the club's supporters expect to celebrate a Premier League title?
Manchester City won the league four years after Sheikh Mansour bought the club and Newcastle's owners are significantly wealthier than Mansour.
Breaking into the elite may be more challenging than City had it, though, but a football finance expert believes it's possible for Newcastle to win the league within 10 years if they start laying the groundwork for it now.
'Within 10 years is feasible'
Sky Sports spoke to Dr. Tom Bason about the Magpies' future and Bason believes a first league win since 1927 is realistic within a decade.
"Well, it won't be easy. We've seen lots of clubs in recent years spend lots of money and not reach the top four. Everton, for example. And money isn't a guarantee of success," Bason said.
"City and Chelsea have money but they also have excellent infrastructure within the club that has taken them many years to build up.
"So in terms of their playing and financial management within the club, it's not something that's come overnight.
"Within 10 years it's certainly feasible if they start to put the right building blocks in place now."
Bason they discussed the wealth of Newcastle's new owners.
"Well the estimates put them at about 10 times wealthier than Manchester City's owners, so quite wealthy," he added, much to the host's surprise.
However, Financial Fair Play rules will dictate how much Newcastle can spend and Bason highlighted the need for the club to increase their revenues.
He said: "Ultimately, if Newcastle want to be spending huge amounts of money they're going to need to increase the revenues into the club."
One way for the club to do this would be sell the naming rights to their St James' Park stadium.
