Robin Van Persie believes Arsenal now have the confidence to win anywhere following Saturday's 5-3 upset at Chelsea.

The Gunners are in a fantastic run of form at present, winning eight games out of nine in all competitions after their worst start to the season in over 50 years.

And, after an 8-2 defeat to champions Manchester United at the end of August, things have dramatically turned at the Emirates, with the Dutch international striker helping inspire a change in fortunes as the club captain.

“We are having a good run at the moment. It has been a bit quiet and not many people have noticed it but we have won eight out of nine games," Van Persie told the official Gunners website.

“This one sets an example. People realise we can do it against any team so everyone is happy.”

The former Feyenoord starlet was referring to events at Stamford Bridge, where the captain's hat-trick proved decisive in a game which twisted towards both teams throughout.

With 28 goals in 27 Barclays Premier League games, Van Persie is the form player in the division, but he was eager to pay tribute to his teammates after bouncing back from two major blows during the clash in west London.

"To score five goals here is big achievement, especially when you look at the game. We had to come back twice. Just before half time was a big blow but we came back quickly," he added.

"Ten minutes from time they score that equaliser which made it very hard to regroup again and go for the fourth. They were two big blows. But we did it, came back and showed character. To score five at Stamford Bridge is a big, big thing. This is one of the hardest grounds in football.

"I had a feeling that both teams could score from every angle - in every minute of the game. It was a strange game but fun as well."
