One of the most popular elements of WWE games of the past was GM mode, but will it be coming to WWE 2K22?
With WWE 2K21 being cancelled, the developers have had more time to work on the latest iteration of the 2K series and anticipation from fans has been high.
Here’s everything you need to know about GM Mode and whether it is coming to WWE 2K22.
GM Mode was originally part of the SmackDown vs RAW series that was a huge hit on the Playstation 2.
The mode saw players taking control of either WWE RAW or WWE SmackDown and creating a weekly show with wrestling cards, promos and segments to try and beat the opposing brands in the ratings.
Fans have wanted the mode to come to the 2K versions of the WWE games for quite some time, and it appears as though they might now get their wish.
WWE 2K22 GM Mode
According to recent reports, WWE 2K22 will be getting a GM/General Manager mode.
@millieamand reported on Wednesday October 13th 2021 that the game would be getting the mode reinstated. She said: “WWE 2K22 will 100% have a Manager mode in which you, the player, will run the WWE.
“This has been asked for, for years and recently topped various fan request polls.
“At this point in time, the plans are to unveil the mode around either Survivor Series (Nov) or Rumble (Jan).”
We will update this page once WWE/2K has officially announced that the mode is going to be coming to the new game.
As @millieamand noted, the company is likely to confirm the mode coming to WWE 2K22 during the Survivor Series PPV event in November 2021 or the Royal Rumble PPV event in January 2022.
2K confirmed earlier this year that 2K22 will be released in March 2022, which suggests that they want some more time to iron out some potential creases that could appear in-game.
