Noted MMA star Arjan Bhullar is the current ONE Heavyweight World Champion but he could soon be appearing in WWE on either Raw or SmackDown.

Bhullar has competed in UFC previously, becoming the first Indo-Canadian fighter to sign with the company.

He fought four times in the UFC and won three of them by unanimous decision, while losing the other, his second fight, by submission.

Now competing under the ONE umbrella, he beat Brandon Vera to become their Heavyweight Champion.

And he has now revealed that he has held talks with WWE over potentially moving into professional wrestling.

Bhullar operates primarily as a freestyle wrestler in MMA and trains fellow wrestlers at University of the Fraser Valley.

He has competed at amateur level too, appearing at the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games and winning a gold medal at the latter for Canada.

Bhullar is clearly a very good wrestler, then, and he has now confirmed that he is holding talks with both WWE and Tony Khan’s AEW.

Speaking to Calf Kick Sports (H/T to Fightful), Bhullar said when asked if WWE and AEW were on his radar:

“They both are. I’ve been engaged with both companies and we should have something coming down the pipe very soon. I picked a fight with both companies and everyone out there, it’s something I’m going to do and I’m just looking to get the business case in order and the right approach.”

It seems as though WWE are trying to branch out to sign the very best amateur wrestlers, having also secured the headline-grabbing signing of USA Olympic star Gable Steveson, already drafting him to Raw ahead of his scheduled debut in 2022.

Bhullar is not as big a name as Steveson, of course, but he has the credentials required to be billed as an amateur wrestling star, much like superstars such as Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, and Dolph Ziggler.
