The summer of 2013 was a pretty crazy one for AS Monaco.
After winning the Ligue 2 title in 2012/13, the principality club spent around £130 million in the transfer market in a bid to take the French top-flight by storm.
Claudio Ranieri's side did just that, with Monaco - fuelled by the cash injection from Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev - finishing the 2013/14 Ligue 1 season in second place, just behind Paris Saint-Germain.
Not bad, eh?
Monaco signed some pretty big names to kickstart their Ligue 1 adventure in 2013 and we've decided to take a look at where all 13 of them have ended up.
Let's begin...
1. James Rodriguez, FC Porto (£40.5m)
The Colombian playmaker arrived from Porto and smashed it at Monaco in 2013/14. He was then sold to Real Madrid for around £70m following his exploits at the 2014 World Cup. Rodriguez is now playing his football out in Qatar with Al-Rayyan after a short spell in the Premier League with Everton.

2. Radamel Falcao, Atletico Madrid (£38.7m)
Falcao enjoyed a great start to life with the principality club. Prior to suffering a serious knee injury, he scored 11 goals in 19 games. El Tigre was then loaned to both Manchester United and Chelsea, before returning to Monaco in 2016 to help guide the club to Ligue 1 glory. The 35-year-old is now banging in goals for Real Valladolid following a two-year stint in Turkey with Galatsaray.
3. Joao Moutinho, FC Porto (£22.5m)
Moutinho proved to be arguably the best signing of the bunch. The midfielder rarely dropped a bad performance during his five years in France and despite now being 35, the Wolves man is still a regular for Portugal's national team.
4. Geoffrey Kondogbia, Sevilla (£18m)
The French midfield enforcer didn't set the world alight at Monaco, but he made the club a tidy profit when Inter Milan opted to spend £25m on him in the summer of 2015. Kondogbia can now be found bossing the midfield for Atletico Madrid after joining Diego Simeone's side from Valencia in 2020.
5. Jeremy Toulalan, Malaga (£4.5m)
An absolute bargain. The veteran midfielder was a mainstay in Monaco's team from the moment he joined right up until Bordeaux opted to add him to their roster in 2016. In 2018, Toulalan called time on his hugely successful playing career.
6. Anthony Martial, Lyon (£4.5m)
A very familiar face. Martial broke into Monaco's first-team in 2014/15, where a string of top performances in attack earned him a big-money move to Manchester United. Martial is still with the Red Devils, but he's yet to fulfil his enormous potential in the north of England.
7. Nicolas Isimat-Mirin, Valenciennes (£3.6m)
Isimat-Mirin played just 11 games for Monaco before joining PSV Eindhoven on a permanent basis in 2015. The 29-year-old defender is now in America with Sporting Kansas City following short spells at Besiktas and Toulouse.

8. Borja Lopez, Sporting Gijon (£1.98m)
Lopez was restricted to just three appearances for Monaco before being sold to Barcelona's B team in 2016. The Spanish centre-back is now back at former club Sporting Gijon after a two-year stint in Croatia with Hajduk Split.
9. Ricardo Carvalho, Real Madrid (Free)
A brilliant free transfer. Carvalho added some much-needed experience to Monaco's back-line and he played 118 games in his three years at the club. By the time 2016 rolled around, the French outfit decided that the former Chelsea man was too old and opted not to extend his contract. Carvalho then retired from the sport in 2017.
10. Eric Abidal, Barcelona (Free)
In his one season with Monaco, Abidal was a key player, so much so that the club offered him a one-year extension. But he rejected it and chose to sign for Olympiakos instead. The Frenchman then called time on his career for personal reasons in December 2014.
11. Gaetano Monachello, Olympiakos Nicosia (Free)
A dreadful signing. The Italian striker didn't play a single game for Monaco and was shipped off to Atalanta in 2015. After seven different loan spells in the space of five years, Monachello joined Serie C outfit Modena on a full-time basis.
12. Fabinho, Rio Ave (Loan)
Fabinho's performances in France saw him make a permanent move to Monaco in 2015. The Brazilian then evolved into a world-class defensive midfielder and secured a £50m switch to Liverpool two years later, where he's been a resounding success.
13. Sergio Romero, Sampdoria (Loan)
Romero was simply brought in as cover and played only a handful of games for Monaco. The Argentine returned to Sampdoria after 2013/14 and then joined Manchester United in 2015. Romero brought an end to his six-year stay at Old Trafford this summer by signing for Venezia on a free transfer.
