Journalist Luke Hatfield has warned that Aston Villa full-backs Matt Targett and Matty Cash will have to be wary of facing Wolves star Adama Traore on Saturday.

The Express and Star journalist believes neither defender will be looking forward to the prospect of playing directly against the Spain international.

What's the latest news involving Adama Traore?

While Traore is yet to provide a goal or assist in the Premier League this season, there's no question he's proved to be a menace for opposition defenders at times.

In fact, no player in the division has completed as many successful dribbles as the 25-year-old, while he's also averaged two shots and 1.7 key passes per match.

It remains to be seen if Traore will actually start on Saturday when Wolves travel to Villa Park in a mouth-watering Midlands derby, having been restricted to substitute duties in the Molineux side's last two top flight outings.

But Hatfield has warned that Aston Villa will need to be 'wary' of what Traore brings to the table, and believes neither Targett nor Cash will be too keen on facing the one-time Villan.

What has Luke Hatfield said about Adama Traore versus Aston Villa?

Speaking with GIVEMESPORT, Hatfield identified Traore as someone who could cause Villa problems this weekend, particularly noting the physicality the Wolves forward brings to the table.

He told GMS: "They'll have to be wary because as a physical talent he's incredible and I don't think Matt Target or Matty Cash would really relish playing against him.

"If he's not on the pitch I think it works in their benefit because Francisco Trincao is probably a player they feel they can keep up with a little bit easier."

Would Matty Cash or Matt Targett fare better versus Adama Traore?

It's an interesting question that has no definitive answer, especially with Cash and Targett being largely similar players.

But Cash is probably slightly more adventurous than his left-sided counterpart. He's attempted just three dribbles all season, with none of them being successful, and has spent the vast majority of his career at left-back.

Cash, on the other hand, has already scored once this term and has played as a winger, a central midfielder and a supporting striker previously.

Targett will have better positional sense and would most likely leave the space behind him less susceptible to Traore's pace.

That being said, Cash would arguably give Traore more problems going the other way and if the Wolves star fails to adequately track back, Villa's No.2 might prove to be one of their most useful outlets on the day.
