US football star Tobin Heath has claimed she has "never played with a better player than Kim Little".
Heath made the comments after Arsenal’s comprehensive 4-0 victory against Hoffenheim in the Women’s Champions League.
The 33-year-old joined Little, Vivianne Miedema and Leah Williamson on the scoresheet.
In the dying moments of the match, Hoffenheim broke and Vanessa Leimenstoll was put through on goal. Despite being 4-0 up, Little sprinted down the pitch to make a superb last-ditch tackle and maintain a clean sheet.
When asked about the moment after the final whistle, Heath was full of praise for Little.
"I can honestly say I have never played with a better player than Kim Little," she told Arsenal.com.
"I was thrilled to play with her, and witness her quality in training and in the games. She does the little things in football that are just brilliant, and honestly, I can’t speak highly enough about her. On the pitch it’s fantastic."
Heath added: "[When Kim made a big tackle late on] I think that comes a lot from Jonas and his personality and the way he wants to play football and I think the team has embraced it and it’s a big challenge.
"I think everyone wants to take that next step because it will take us the furthest we want to go in competitions."
When considering the stars Heath has played with, her words are high praise indeed. The winger, who has featured for Sky Blue FC, PSG, Portland Thorns and Manchester United, is a linchpin of the United States women’s national team.
Heath earned Olympic gold medals with the US at Beijing 2008 and London 2012, and won the World Cup in 2015 and 2019.
She joined Arsenal in September, having supported the North London club for nearly two decades.
Little has played for Arsenal for the majority of her career, leaving the team in 2013 for Seattle Reign before returning to England in 2017. The 31-year-old has three WSL titles and three FA Cups with the Gunners.
Both Heath and Little have helped Arsenal to a brilliant start to the WSL season. The club sit top of the table with five wins from five matches.
With an international break scheduled for the upcoming weeks, Arsenal will next be in league action against West Ham on November 7th.News Now - Sport News
