Chris Eubank Jr has vowed to make Wanik Awdijan pay for his apparent lack of respect 'because he had so much to say online'.

Eubank Jr claims Awdijan has failed to keep that same energy in person, accusing the German of lacking 'the same fire' he showed on social media.

The outspoken German will face the British middleweight boxer on the undercard of Savannah Marshall's world title defence against Lolita Muzeya on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office, and the former IBO champ intends to exact his revenge.

"I'm disappointed in this man here because he had so much to say online," Eubank said before the fight at Newcastle's Utilita Arena.

"So much heat and energy came from his social media.

"Now? I see a man who doesn't have the same fire."

Eubank was supposed to headline a Sky Sports Fight Night on October 2, but the fight was cancelled after the British Boxing Board of Control raised concerns over Anatoli Muratov's pre-fight medicals. He has not fought since a UD victory over Marcus Morrison in May.

Chris Eubank Jr and Wanik Awdijan face off for the first time

"This is your shot, kid. You had a lot to say on social media," Eubank, who has 30 wins and two defeats to his name, said during a media conference attended by both boxers.

"I want to make sure that you understand this - before you said the things that you said, you were just a guy that I needed to beat to get to the next guy. There was no malice.

"After seeing the things you said? I have a reason to terrorise you. I hope you understand the position you have put yourself in."

Eubank believes this is his big chance to build some momentum towards a big fight in December and that 'everything is on schedule'

But Awdijan has suggested that the Brit, who was famously beaten by George Groves in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series, isn't invincible and has weaknesses he can exploit.

"As soon as I got the call to fight Chris Eubank I absolutely did not hesitate," Awdijan responded.

"It’s my opportunity to do to show what I can do.

"Everyone is beatable, even him. He's a human, like me. He has two losses, too."
