Leicester City beat Manchester United for the third time in a row to extend their winless streak and drop Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side four points behind league leaders Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

The Red Devils have struggled to keep a clean sheet in their last four league games this season, but the result couldn't have come at a worse possible time after Jurgen Klopp's side put five past Watford earlier in the day.

United were all over the place at the back, allowing Ayoze Perez to swoop in for the kill and after he fed Jamie Vardy, who found himself in acres of space on the edge of the box, there was only one possible outcome.

Vardy wheeled away in celebration, the defenders' faces visibly crestfallen.

Then Zambian forward Patson Daka - on as a substitute for fellow striker Kelechi Iheanacho and making just his second Premier League appearance - bundled in his first goal for the club to double the Foxes' lead.

The Zambia international has understandably taken some time getting used to the vigorous demands of playing in the Premier League, but the youngster certainly gave the fans plenty to smile about when he tapped in a terrific free kick from the highly-rated Youri Tielemans.

As for Solskjaer, it's back to the drawing board for the Norwegian, who will no doubt face a public inquiry into their collapse at the back, with Mason Greenwood's early opener a long forgotten relic of the otherwise quiet first half.

Greenwood had given United an early lead but the Foxes hit back with goals from Tielemans and Çağlar Söyüncü either side of the break.

Speaking after the game, Leicester striker Vardy said: "It was massively important. The most important thing was the performance because we had let our standards slip but we had the international break to reflect on things.

"We let him [Mason Greenwood] come inside way to easy onto his favoured foot and he put it right into the top corner. There were no complaints but I think you saw the reaction of the lads.

"We put a three in midfield and it gives him [Youri Tielemans] a bit more freedom [to get forward].

"It is brilliant for him [Patson Daka]. He has been working so hard in training. I am over the moon for him and I’m sure there are plenty more to come from Patson. Hopefully that will start pushing us forward in the table."
