Becky Lynch was pinned in a televised match for the first time in over 990 days on last night's episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

On last night's show, Becky Lynch was beaten in singles competition by Sasha Banks, and the loss was significant for more than one reason.

The bout was not only Lynch's first pinfall singles loss since she returned from maternity leave in August, but also the first time she'd been pinned since May 2019.

Prior to last night, Lynch's last pinfall loss came when Bayley beat her for the SmackDown Women's title at Money in the Bank on May 19, 2018, which was 880 days ago.

As Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful notes, that match was when Bayley cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase, making Lynch's unbeaten run even more impressive.

If we exclude that match, the last time Lynch was pinned in a scheduled WWE match was way back at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 28, 2019.

At the show, Lynch dropped the SmackDown Women's Championship in a cracking match to Asuka, meaning her last proper pinfall loss, before last night's to Sasha Banks, was 991 days ago.

Becky Lynch will be hoping to get back to winning ways next week, as she defends her SmackDown Women's Championship at Crown Jewel against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.

You can watch WWE Crown Jewel live on October 21 in the US on Peacock and in the UK on the WWE Network.
