Brentford have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United goalkeeper Conor Devlin on a short-term contract.

The Northern Ireland U21 international moves to Griffin Park to provide cover for injury to current Bees No.2 Simon Moore - who has been sidelined with a shoulder injury.

The 20-year-old is a product of the Red Devils youth academy, but having been deemed surplus to requirements by Sir Alex Ferguson, Devlin left Old Trafford in search of regular football.

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler has welcomed the ex-Manchester United and Aston Villa youngster to the club, and feels the deal will benefit everyone.

"We're happy to be able to bring Conor in at such short notice," he said. "We obviously needed someone to sit on the bench, but it will be good experience for him to be involved with a League One team.

"Hopefully it will benefit both parties and he will become a better keeper."
