Brek Shea will spend a month training with Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail, with the American youngster being targeted by numerous Barclays Premier League clubs.

Shea currently plays for FC Dallas in the MLS, but the season comes to an finish at the end of the month. While the 21-year-old is still contracted to Dallas, he is reportedly planning on taking a month to train with Wenger.

Arsenal have a long history of taking on overseas players who are young and full of potential, and while Manchester United and Liverpool are both chasing the starlet, Arsenal are said to have stolen the march on their rivals to secure Brek for a trial period at least.

Shea will no doubt be the subject of great speculation come January, but with the youngster having already spent time at Arsenal by then, Manchester United and Liverpool may struggle to get hold of Shea from Wenger’s clutches.

And even with United being able to offer Shea Champions League action, and Liverpool hoping to coax the winger with a long-term goal to challenge for trophies, the Gunners may finally get the win over their rivals they’re hoping for this season.
