Born in Johannesburg, South Africa on 23rd August 1995, the 26-year-old learned his trade in New Zealand and represented the country during his Junior career, before switching his allegiance to Great Britain in 2013.

Norrie went on to secure a scholarship in sociology at Texas Christian University and joined the Horned Frogs team where he quickly became the highest-ranked tennis player in the country.

Since turning professional in 2018, Norrie has gone on to win two tournaments and most recently secured a career-high after beating Nikoloz Basilashvili 3–6, 6–4, 6–1 to secure the Indian Wells Masters (1000).
