Luis Suarez will face his former club, Liverpool, once again on Tuesday.
Suarez’s Atletico Madrid side take on Liverpool at the Wanda Metropolitano in what should be a mouth-watering Champions League group stage tie.
The Uruguayan striker was considered a hero at Anfield for his incredible goalscoring record.
In three-and-a-half seasons, he scored 82 goals in 133 appearances and almost propelled them to Premier League glory during the 2013/14 campaign, in which he scored 31 in 33 league matches.
However, his legacy at the club took a pretty hefty nosedive during Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final clash against Barcelona in 2019.
When Suarez opened the scoring in the first leg, there was no muted celebration. Instead, he celebrated wildly at putting his side 1-0 ahead. Perhaps that was understandable considering it was a Champions League semi-final.
However, his actions for the rest of the match weren’t quite so understandable. He clashed with several Liverpool players and even celebrated in Andy Robertson’s face after Lionel Messi’s free-kick put Barcelona 3-0 ahead.
Suarez offered an olive branch to Liverpool fans ahead of the second leg at Anfield.
"People who love this sport know the importance of a goal in the Champions League semi-finals," Suarez said after the game.
“I have all the respect in the world for the Liverpool fans. I am very thankful to them. If I score a goal against Liverpool here I won't celebrate in the same way.
“I think there will be more applause than whistles for me.”

Suarez would have been disappointed at his reception, then, as Kopites chanted ‘cheat, cheat, cheat’ at him and booed his every touch.
The Barcelona striker was up to his usual tricks, too.
In the first half, he kicked out at Robertson as the pair reignited their rivalry. It forced the Scot off with a calf injury at half-time as Liverpool went in search of a miraculous turnaround.
Ironically, Robertson was replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum at the break.
And we all know what happened next.
The Dutch midfielder scored twice in the second to add to Origi’s first half goal before the Belgian striker added a fourth to complete the most incredible turnaround.
Liverpool and Robertson had the last laugh, quite literally.
When asked about his run-in with Suarez over the two legs, the left-back had the perfect response.
BT Sport reporter, Des Kelly, said: “You had a running battle with Luis Suarez and he took you out."
To which Robertson replied: “Who’s going to the final?”
Brilliant.
Liverpool did go to the final - which incidentally took place at the Wanda Metropolitano - where they beat Tottenham 2-0 to lift their sixth European Cup.
