Montez Ford is someone that fans want to see pushed up the card, but the former NXT star is seen as someone with a lot of potential by people high-up within WWE too.

Sources have told GiveMeSport that there are many within WWE, with several of those being people of influence, who believe that Montez Ford could be a high star for the company.

Montez Ford main evented SmackDown on September 17 along with Roman Reigns, which GiveMeSport has been told was seen by WWE higher-ups as a “trial” for Ford as a singles star, which he is said to have passed with flying colours.

As was reported by WrestleVotes, there was talk of splitting up Street Profits in the WWE Draft this month, the objective of which we’ve been told was for a "serious" Montez Ford singles push to begin.

The decision was made to keep the Street Profits together for the time being, but sources have told us that the door is still open for Ford to break out as a singles star over the next few months, just with Angelo Dawkins on the same brand.

Regardless of whether he went to the brand on his own, or with Angelo Dawkins, WWE always wanted to have Montez Ford on Raw.

We’ve been told this was partially because WWE tries keep real-life couples on the same roster, with Belair being moved over to Raw, but also because higher-ups feel as if Ford has more top talent to work with on the red brand.

We have been told that higher-ups have been incredibly impressed by the work that Montez Ford, as well as Angelo Dawkins for that matter, has been putting in to improve.

GiveMeSport has also learned that people within WWE have been impressed with Ford's conduct and performances over the last few months, which is why he's being considered for big opportunities like this.
