Honda's F1 Managing Director, Masashi Yamamoto, has said that his team are eyeing three more victories for Max Verstappen and Red Bull in the final weeks of the season, predicting that that could be enough for the Dutchman to win his maiden Drivers' title.

The 2021 season has proven epic with Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton going toe-to-toe and wheel-to-wheel from the very first race back in March in Bahrain.

Indeed, since then, the championship fight has swung to and fro and, ahead of the final six Grands Prix this year, Verstappen holds a slender six point advantage over Hamilton.

It's anyone's title between the pair, then, and both Red Bull and Mercedes will be working around the clock to ensure they provide as strong a package as possible for their drivers in order to get the results needed to win both the Drivers' and Constructors' championships.

That said, Honda are obviously looking to extract as much as they can from their power unit for Red Bull to be able to use in the final races, and Yamamoto is hoping that three of the last six races will fall their way as they look to sew up both crowns:

''There are still six races to go with a race in America first. Of course with Max we still want to be in the lead when we go to Mexico and Brazil. Then you have Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. In Abu Dhabi we want to have developed in such a way that we are the best team again," he said to Auto Sport Web in Japan.

''There we had pole last year. I don't know with Qatar and Saudi Arabia. In Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi we can have good races and hopefully that will lead to a good final result."

If Max can win three of the final races then he'll be in a very good position indeed - let's see if they can pull it off.
