After Conor McGregor was last week accused of punching a well-known Italian DJ on a trip to Rome, he has now spoken out against his rival Nate Diaz and former Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings.

In a bizarre turn of events, Diaz was last week advised not to renew his fight contract with the UFC by Cummings on Twitter.

Diaz has just one fight remaining on his current UFC contract, with a return to The Octagon rumoured to be coming in December.

But while Diaz plans his next move in the sport, the former political strategist tweeted that the fighter would “make more cash outside and @danawhite will come to do a deal at some point for trilogy @TheNotoriousMMA fight, but outside you’ll have much more leverage & make more $.”

Diaz’s fierce rival, McGregor, took no time in responding to Cummings’ tweet and called Cummings a ‘lanky streak of p***’.

McGregor wrote on Twitter: “Advised by who? Does this lanky streak of p*** think he business savvy or something?

“Hey bro. You’d 15 fights in the UFC and were on 20k to fight 20K to win.

“Hahahaha 14 f***ing fights. In the UFC!

“Eyelid hanging off your head and handed a 20k check pre-tax. Know who made you.”

Diaz, 36, has competed just once in 2021, where he lost via a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards at UFC 263.

While we wait for confirmation of his next fight, Diaz posted a short and mysterious tweet, saying: “I’m fight somebody,” which prompted Cumming’s advice.

McGregor, meanwhile, was accused of punching DJ Francesco Faccinetti, while he was on a trip to Rome for the christening of their son Rian in the Vatican last week.

The Sun reports that Police were called after a scuffle broke out at an event at the St Regis hotel in Rome, with Facchinetti subsequently posting a video on Instagram showing cuts on his lips.
