Football Manager 2022 (FM22) is almost here and a number of players, writers and influencers have already got their hands on an Alpha version of the new game just days away from the release of the Early Access Beta.

Sports Interactive (SI) have showcased a vast array of new features for this year, particularly around their all-new Data Hub and the refined Deadline Day experience which has got huge segments of the gaming community talking.

While FM22 is still in early development, SI distributed early copies of the game to allow reviewers to get to grips with the new features and immerse themselves in the world of football management.

With the beta due to be released in a matter of days, many have had their say already on FM22 and what their first impressions are early on.

Football Manager 2022 First Look

Football Manager 2022 Data Hub

Football Manager 2022 is the talk of the town and some sites have commented on what sort of reception that it could be in for when the game eventually comes out, especially when it comes to the aspect of improved realism in-game.

Iain Macintosh of The Athletic summed this up perfectly when it came to looking at how the "fragile and fallible" nature of players when tired which could have a huge impact on tactical implementation in this year's game.

He added that this might not go down well when the Beta version comes out but reckons that things will die down after a couple of months.

Data Hub

Another new aspect of the game is the all-new Data Hub interface, which gives virtual managers an in-depth look into their team's performance, identifying what their team is doing right, wrong and what can be improved.

This is fantastic for those players that love some good, hard stats, as Jack Kenmare of SPORTbible identified. The data visuals complete with assistant manager feedback paint the perfect picture of what can be implemented in your tactics to take your side to the level or make the most of certain positions on the pitch.

For example, if your main striker is isolated and not getting fed the ball through the midfield, this will be highlighted in the all-new pass maps that SI have integrated into FM22 this year. Real football clubs are using a similar system to this day.

Transfer Deadline Day

If you ever wanted to know what it's like to be a manager on Transfer Deadline Day, then FM22 is the game to play. That is what Robert Jones of T3 said when looking into the smart-looking hub which immerses players into the stresses and strains of trying to get deals over the line during the dying embers of the window.

Your screen will be festooned in black and gold as the clock counts down towards zero, with agents contacting you offering players, negotiations and players approaching you to talk contracts.

The feature appears to be neat, tidy and all in one place and is ideal for the casual gamer who does not want an overly complicated gaming interface. Good work here, Sports Interactive.

If you want more of a visual reference into what is coming this year, have a look at Lollujo on YouTube who explains concisely what players will expect in FM22.

Football Manager 2022 will be released on 9th November 2021 on PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass.
