Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes showed his class with a superb Champions League assist against Atalanta on Wednesday night.United entered the European clash under serious pressure having picked up just one point from their last three Premier League games against Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester City.Marry that to having lost their Champions League opener at Young Boys and needing a last-minute winner to overcome Villarreal at Old Trafford to see exactly why United were feeling the pressure.

Fernandes' sumptuous assist

And you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Red Devils were crumbling under that very pressure as they found themselves 2-0 down at half-time and at risk of dropping to bottom of their group.

Strikes from Mario Pašalić and Merih Demiral meant that United had to desperately search for a way back into the game in the second 45 minutes - and eventually, they managed to do exactly that.

Marcus Rashford made it two goals in two games since returning from surgery with a fine low finish, but it was the killer pass from Fernandes which carved out the opportunity that was truly special.

The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder showed incredible vision and quick-thinking to play Rashford clean through on goal with the outside of his right boot, so be sure to check out its brilliance below:

Oh Bruno, Bruno, Bruno. You beauty.

Fernandes enjoying a superb season

It's easy to forget just how fantastic Fernandes has been for the Red Devils this season because of all the big-name arrivals around him and the sheer regularity of his goal contributions.

Besides, you'd forgive the Old Trafford faithful for taking him for granted when he already boasts four goals and five assists in all competitions across the 2020/21 campaign.

And his assist for Rashford proved to be a pivotal turning point for United who went on to flip the game completely on its head with Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo securing an epic 3-2 win.

Truth be told, that didn't make it a vintage performance from the hosts, who still relied on David de Gea at times, but it will still give Solskjaer some more breathing room as the pressure piles on.

However, if Fernandes' sensational pass, Maguire's brilliant volley and Ronaldo's sumptuous header go to show anything, then it's that United certainly aren't lacking when it comes to individual quality.
