Journalist Stuart Hodge has already tipped Mathias Normann to win Norwich City's Player of the Year award despite being just two months into the campaign.

Normann has become an integral member of Daniel Farke's squad this season, starting each of their last four Premier League clashes.

What's the latest news involving Normann?

Normann made the move to Carrow Road a matter of days before the summer transfer window slammed shut, joining from Russian side Rostov on a season-long loan deal which has the option of being made permanent.

Farke revealed the Canaries fought off stiff competition for Normann's services, with the defensive midfielder boasting plenty of potential in the Norwich boss' eyes.

It is not the first time he has been on the books of a Premier League club as he made 13 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion's under-23 side before leaving the Amex Stadium without featuring for the senior squad.

The 25-year-old has gone on to star on the international stage as well as developing at club level, with him winning nine caps for Norway.

However, he was forced to withdraw from Norway's squad during the recent international break after reporting some minor abdominal pain.

What has Stuart Hodge said about Normann?

Hodge believes Normann will prove to be a shrewd loan signing by Farke.

The journalist has already seen enough to suggest he will go on to win an award at the end of the campaign.

Hodge told GIVEMESPORT: "He's got a lot to his game and, even at this point, I think - barring an injury - he is going to be Norwich City's Player of the Year and I'm saying this in October.

"I just think he's a colossus and I hope Norwich City will stay up because it would mean that they would keep him. I'm massively, massively impressed by him.

"After what I thought was a stellar summer of business, he looks to be the prize pick."

Why were Norwich so keen to sign Normann?

Normann has made 134 appearances over the course of his club career and, despite being a defensively-minded midfielder, has shown his cutting edge in the final third by registering 20 assists and finding the back of the net six times himself.

He featured 56 times for Rostov before making the switch to Norwich late in the transfer window.

Normann, who is valued at £11.7million by Transfermarkt, was even involved in four early-season fixtures for the Russian side prior to relocating to Carrow Road.
